SCA and Interjet have returned Interjet’s Sukhoi Superjet 100 fleet into service/12.01.2017

Moscow, January 12, 2017 – Sukhoi Civil Aircraft   (SCA) has completed work on airworthiness restoration of 11 Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft operated by Interjet.


At the end of December, 22 SCA’s experts were sent to Mexico to perform all the required activities. During 5 days in January the first 6 aircraft have been returned into service. The remaining portion of airplanes has been repaired by January 10 as well. Troubleshooting procedure was agreed with Russian aviation authorities (Federal Air Transport Agency) and carried out under control of Mexican aviation authorities (DGAC).

“Thanks to the joint work done with the manufacturer, the process was carried out in a shorter time than initially considered, which will allow Interjet to operate with its entire fleet of 70 aircraft the more than 300 daily flights that it performs” said the CEO of Interjet, José Luis Garza.


Interjet is one of the world’s largest operators of SSJ100 aircraft and has been flying the model since 2013. The company has 22 SSJ100 in its fleet. Interjet’s SSJ100 dispatch reliability is one of the highest among the operatorsof this type of AC. The Company’s fleet of SSJ100 has accumulated more than 90,000 flight hours and more than 75,000 flights have been already performed by Interjet.


Sukhoi Superjet 100 was designed and tested incompliance with international and Russian airworthiness standards confirmed by the Type Certificate issued by IAC AR (Interstate Aviation Committee Aviation Register) and validated by EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency).

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) is a new-generation jet designed and manufactured by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) together with Leonardo-Finmeccanica. SSJ100 was designed with the latest technologies, ensuring operational efficiency and a high level of passenger comfort. The SSJ100 can be operated on both short and medium distance routes. The SSJ100’s range is more than 3,000 kilometers while its long-range version can travel more than 4,500 kilometers. JSC “Sukhoi Civil Aircraft” produces the commercial airliners SSJ100, a version of the Sukhoi Business Jet and special-purpose aircraft. Since the beginning of SSJ100 commercial operations in 2011 over 100 new aircraft have been delivered to customers.
